Old-school loyalty,
reimagined for the
digital age

DigiCup is a mobile app designed to replace traditional paper stamp cards for coffee purchases. It centralizes all digital loyalty cards from various coffee shops into a single, convenient platform. This allows users to easily collect and redeem points across multiple locations without needing to carry or manage physical cards.
The Problem

Scattered Paper Cards
Users need to carry separate stamp cards for each café. These often get lost, forgotten, or damaged—resulting in lost rewards.

Inconsistent Loyalty Systems
Each café has its own system (paper, verbal, app), leading to a fragmented and confusing experience for users.

Low Customer Engagement
Without a centralized, digital system, users are unaware of their reward status and often miss out on benefits.

Too Many Apps
Users are required to download a separate app for each coffee shop, which clutters their phone and reduces the likelihood of participation.

Survey
Survey with 16 potential users.
Here are some findings.
Insights:
Most users are young adults living in cities who drink coffee several times a week.
They care mostly about convenience and location when choosing a café.
Many do not currently use loyalty cards, and those who do mostly rely on paper cards.
Users are already comfortable using digital payment and coffee ordering apps,
but find it annoying to juggle multiple loyalty systems.

Persona
Noa, 29 years old, lives in Tel Aviv and works as a freelance UX/UI designer. She spends her mornings jumping between meetings at cafés and coworking spaces, and afternoons working from home or designing in Figma. She loves her independence, but her lifestyle is fast-paced and often disorganized.
She frequently visits local coffee shops, where she enjoys a quick cappuccino between meetings. Noa collects paper stamp cards from different places but constantly forgets or loses them. She’s frustrated with how unorganized the process is and wishes there were one place to track it all.
Noa wants a simple, elegant digital solution that matches her design sensibilities—something she can use without thinking, that feels clean, fast, and intuitive. She values rewards, but even more so ease of use and efficiency. A centralized app would help her stay on top of her coffee perks without extra effort, and allow her to support her favorite local cafés with a tap.

Initial Sketches
Analyzing my users there goals, the architecture, and the user’s interaction with the system, I worked on making informed decisions on how to design “DigiCup” screens by sketching wireframes.

Visual Design
The goal was to create a clean and motivating interface that feels simple but engaging.
The challenge was to balance between playful celebration moments and a minimal, focused layout,
while keeping the design light, intuitive, and easy to use.
Main Flow
The user opens the app, selects a coffee card, and scans to receive a stamp.
Progress is shown visually, and upon the final stamp, a celebration screen announces the free coffee.
The flow is fast, clear, and encourages repeat use.

Secondary Flow
The user taps “Add New Card”, and a Modal Bottom Sheet appears with two clear options:
“I’m here now” – to scan a QR code at the café.
“I’m looking for a café” – to browse a list of nearby cafés.
After selecting an option, the user is taken directly to the scan screen or the results list, with filters available for distance, favorites, or price.
Once a café is selected, its card is added to the user’s digital wallet, ready to collect stamps.
Using a Modal Bottom Sheet keeps the user in context, reduces unnecessary screen transitions, and creates a fast, clear, and intuitive experience for both spontaneous visits and planned searches.

Color Palette
The colors were chosen to combine a warm, everyday feel with a clean, modern interface.
• The Blue – serves as the primary action color, symbolizing trust, confidence, and readiness to act.
• The Light Peach Orange – evokes warmth, friendliness, and approachability without being too bold.
Together, they create a friendly and inviting user experience.

Iconography
The stamp icons were designed to evoke the feel of traditional punch cards—familiar to anyone who’s ever earned a free coffee.
Their circular, layered design gives clear visual feedback and taps into a nostalgic, rewarding experience.
This choice, paired with soft gift icons, reinforces a positive and motivating journey through the app.
